Trails
Trails: Bushwhack
Date of Hike
Date of Hike: Friday, July 22, 2022
Parking/Access Road Notes
Parking/Access Road Notes: Cedar Stream Road to Pisgah Mountain Trail/Road to logging landing North of Crystal NW and Southwest of Mt. Pisgah. Both roads were passable by a mid-sized sedan, but would be passable with some care by a low-clearance car. At the last fork, the left was closed to vehicles for active logging, right goes to landing. Just after this last fork, use caution on two ditches that have eroded holes on North side of the road. Currently passable by any car, but should be inspected before crossing to confirm. Attempted Crystal Brook Rd. off of Cedar Stream Rd. to approach Crystal NW from the NW, but a large downed tree blocked the road several hundred yards in. Resident of camp by the Cedar Stream Rd./Crystal Brk. Rd. junction said that he would clear it.

Comments
Comments: Several Cow Parsnip plants were near a stream crossing near beginning of hike. Sap causes phytophotodermatitis. https://www.dec.ny.gov/animals/105388.html

Wet and muddy as one leaves landing and along the first section of bushwhack.
