Comments
Comments: Lots of folks headed up Huntington today. I think the next time I go up I'm taking a can of spray paint--there's a couple of spots that could use some paint on the upper portions. Descending 6 Husbands was extremely slow--from the loose, small rock on the upper section to the very steep slabs down below. There was one spot where I lowered my pack down the slab with a rope. And given that there are no trail markers on certain sections it took a while to find a route down. So far I've descended many of the trails in the Great Gulf and this one takes the cake. Great Gulf, Madison Gulf, Wamsutta and Sphinx were all simple in comparison--slow but simple. I'm still wondering how that guy got his dog down 6? My stats for the day were 15.3 miles, 5200' gain, and 11.5 hrs round trip. Loved every minute of it except for the AT back to Pinkham.
