| Parking/Access Road Notes: |
Parking for maybe 2 cars at Rattlesnake, I parked on the road easily though. The parking at PHP was odd, we had two cars and barely fit and thats WITH one of them being a jeep that could go over all the rocks. However, there was a prius in a more moderate parking lot when we left that really would've added like three minutes to the hike, so theres that option. |

| Surface Conditions: |
Dry Trail |
|
| Recommended Equipment: |

|
| Water Crossing Notes: |
Both trails totally dry. HOWEVER I can absolutely see how Peaked Hill Pond would be disastrous after rain as the ground was very very dry and showed a lot of promise for deep mud. |
|
| Trail Maintenance Notes: |
No blowdowns on Rattlesnake, fairly eroded on the steep sections though. One blow down 1/2 way through PHP trail that was a simple hop over. |
|
| Dog-Related Notes: |
Heard a lot of barking but saw no dogs. |

| Bugs: |
none! |

**Check out blog linked below for pics and my fun bear story**
Rattlesnake is short, sweet, and eroded. Nice views of the valley and my least favorite mountain ever, Carr (long story). Oh and there was also bears. A mom and a cub. A climber I talked to afterwards told me he also saw one in the area two weeks ago, so stay loud out there folks!
Peaked hill pond was lovely and essentially a logging road that was grassy at times. Great for first timers!
P.S. If you're the guy who heard me screaming Welcome to the Jungle to create a presence for the bears, I am so sorry for being obnoxious. |
