|Hiking Trail Conditions Report|
||Great Gulf Trail, Auto Road, Huntington Ravine Trail, Nelson Crag Trail, Old Jackson Road, Madison Gulf Trail|
|Date of Hike:
||Sunday, July 31, 2022|
|Parking/Access Road Notes:
||Half a dozen on arrival at 7:30 am, half that on return at 4:15pm. |
||Dry Trail, Wet Trail, Wet/Slippery Rock, Standing/Running Water on Trail, Mud - Minor/Avoidable |
|Water Crossing Notes:
||All easily crossed |
|Trail Maintenance Notes:
||We have some of the toughest hiking trail terrain to deal with and some of the toughest people working to keep these trails clear. Even in the Wilderness Areas today, the work done to keep the path clear was evident. |
||Some buzzing around the water crossings, but had no need for any type of repellant today. |
|Lost and Found:
||All trails in great shape. Some minor mud, here and there. All blowdowns easily maneuvered around. Nelson Crag seemed really steep and sapped my energy before getting to the Old Jackson Road. The trail though, while in need of some brushing in a few spots, is in great shape. |
Enjoyed meeting some campers on the Great Gulf Trail section, beyond the SH intersection, and also Alex on the way up to the Great Gulf Headwall, as he is training for the single day Pemi Loop. Best of luck!
