A nice day to hike one of NH
Hundred Highest. Started the whack approx 1 mile in on Carrigain Notch Trail. There was a mix of open forest with several dense patches of young growth evergreens. skirted around the best I could but not avoidable in several spots. chest high spruce covering various blowdowns also added to the fun. Surprisingly there were also spots of quite open areas at upper elevations. Summit Canister is in great shape and register is 3/4 full with the last entry from 8/01.Continually inspired by the names written in this register. I just didn't have it in me to head to Anderson this afternoon... another day. tough hike indeed. |
