After an unfortunate start (inadvertently left pack at home)! I packed Amy B's pack who wasn't hiking today with some extras and headed up to Mt Hale via the always beautiful Firewardens Trail. While officially not maintained this trail is in great shape and no issue following once entering it from the N Twin herdpath. It was nice chatting with the hiker at the summit that had also come up that way as well as seven others I met descending HBT. Always amazed what a small world it is as I met two hikers I had met last week just below Mt Redington. The loaner pack was an Osprey Tempest 34 and carried well. Truly a nice backpack! A huge thanks! to the hiker who offered me a ride this afternoon as I was walking back towards Carroll. |
