Comments
Comments: Doublehead is a good choice for an AM hike when showers and thunderstorms are forecast in the PM. It was dry during the hike with billowing clouds. On the way home I ran in to stretches of wet road. I decided to ascend via the New Path after having descended on this trail last year. The New Path steepness is similar to that of the Hancock Loop Trail from Loop Junction to North Hancock. Old Path and the Doublehead Ski Trail is a nicer descent route.
Nice views at various outlooks on or near both summits.
Many hikers out today including two from Jackson NH and two from VA and many places in between.
