Trails
Trails: Bog Brook Trail, Wildcat River Trail, Wild River Trail, FR 233
Date of Hike
Date of Hike: Sunday, September 11, 2022
Parking/Access Road Notes
Parking/Access Road Notes: The small lot at the gate was full and cars were lined up on the side for a bit (still fewer than ten in total).
Surface Conditions
Surface Conditions: Dry Trail, Mud - Minor/Avoidable
Recommended Equipment
Recommended Equipment:
Water Crossing Notes
Water Crossing Notes: All very easy
Trail Maintenance Notes
Trail Maintenance Notes: One blowdown worth some attention on Wildcat River Trail about 1.5 miles in.
Dog-Related Notes
Dog-Related Notes: Only saw one other dog.
Bugs
Bugs: None other than an absolutely massive wasp’s nest hanging from a tree by the side of FR 233 about a hundred yards from the parking lot. It’s an active nest so steer clear.
Lost and Found
Lost and Found: Saw a red bandana on the Wildcat River Trail but it looked almost like someone was using it to mark something so we left it.

Comments
Comments: Needed something easy today. Sometimes it’s more about the solitude than the views (and despite the parking lot being full, the only people we saw were within a few hundred yards of the lot).
