Recommended Equipment:
Water Crossing Notes
Water Crossing Notes: Plenty crossings but only one that I decided to get my feet wet coming down Unknown Pond Trail
Trail Maintenance Notes
Trail Maintenance Notes: Trail is in great condition. I love the overgrown parts and no to little erosion unlike most other trails to the south.
Dog-Related Notes
Dog-Related Notes: Of the few people (6 maybe) I encountered in two days they all had dogs and all were very well behaved and fun.
Bugs: NONE!
Lost and Found
Lost and Found: None found or lost for once.
Comments: I love this ridge in September for the solitude and the variation of the trails, unlike the normal WMNF all rock and roots! Stayed at Rogers Ledge Tent site for the first time. Very nice, clean, secluded. Sunset on Rogers Ledge was beautiful and should have put my tent up there! (Next time). Saturday on Kilkenny/Unknown trails were perfect. Trail runners race going on and I never saw any of them. Checked out Unknown Pond Tent site for future reference. Very nice there also. This is my favorite part of the Whites, so far!
