Comments: What a gorgeous day and Weeks State Park is a gem! I started CCW on the Around the Mtn trail to OAB on Davidge. This part of ATM is a bit grassy but easily followed. From the junction w/ Davidge it really opens up. Wide woods road. Climbs steadily to the junction with Old Carriage Path. OCP down to Reed Rd is grassy. Bear evidence. OCP got my heart pumping all the way to the junction with the Auto Rd. Great views from the lawns of the Weeks Estate and the stone fire tower. Descended the Auto Rd. retraced the section of ATM back to parking area and then all the way back to junction with OCP. Returning on OCP I noticed a herd path...leading up hill thru the woods. Followed it to the top of the tow rope, looked around, and returned the herd path, back to the trail and car. 8 total miles on a gorgeous day. If you've never been to Weeks State Park, I highly recommend making the trip. It's gorgeous and off the regular tourist path. Family friendly trails and plenty of space to hang out. There were two group events taking place and it wasn't crowded at all.
