| Parking/Access Road Notes: |
Weekend parking at Ammo... it was pretty full when I got there near mid-day. A couple spots were indeed left, but it was tight. USFS had a pop-up tent with an ambassador, nothing much beyond that. |
| Surface Conditions: |
Dry Trail, Wet Trail, Wet/Slippery Rock, Standing/Running Water on Trail, Mud - Minor/Avoidable, Mud - Significant, Leaves - Significant/Slippery |
| Recommended Equipment: |
| Water Crossing Notes: |
At the moment, everything appears nominal. Some of the crossings were a bit full, and on one my feet got a little damp. Nothing bad enough to create any hardship. |
| Trail Maintenance Notes: |
Overall, everything is in OK shape. Some of the bog bridge is pretty close to being rotted out, but that's about the size of it. |
| Dog-Related Notes: |
Many happy pups out on the trail enjoying the weather. Lots of wagging tails. I didn't see any canine overheating. |
| Bugs: |
Occasional annoyances from the no-see-ums, but not a big deal, and once above tree line, this seemed to largely disappear. |
| Lost and Found: |
Lost: some stress. Found: Truth and beauty, along with some bliss. |

| Comments: |
Plans changed at least twice that I can think of, and everything worked out for the best when all was said and done. Weather was superlative, and you know when it's on your list, and the weather is fine, you go nail down Washington. Ammo is its usual soggy self, and in all other ways, the trail was unremarkable in a good way.
Pictures and a report are on my blog, as always. Share and enjoy! |
