Water Crossing Notes: At this time- not applicable (dried up)
Trail Maintenance Notes
Trail Maintenance Notes: 3 overhead blowdowns (easily walk under standing upright); 4 small blowdowns (easily walk over- even for child in the group). None of these appeared to be new at all.
Dog-Related Notes
Dog-Related Notes: I personally would not recommend dog- ONLY because of the "chimney" section once on the Mahoosuc Trail. Otherwise, I think it's fine for canine friends- and we saw lots of paw prints in the mud :-)

Comments
Comments: This is such a LOVELY hike! Even if you don't want to summit Success- even just hiking to the "OUTLOOK" is so worth it! We saw a pair of friends resting at the junction of SUCCESS/MAHOOSUC Trails (they'd come in from the north overnight through the notch)... and only saw one other person on our descent from Success' summit: a lovely flip-op AT hiker who'd just come through (SOBO) from Maine. The FOLIAGE COLORS ARE BEAUTIFUL! We had the whole summit to ourselves for the afternoon. SO LOVELY!
