Parking/Access Road Notes: Early bird gets the spot. The paved section of Zealand Road is a slalom course of potholes. Parking for Sugarloaf was 1/4 mile past the bridge and all the way to Sugarloaf I entrance. Insane.

Comments: HALE YEAH! A MAGNIFICENT day was had today in Henry's Woods. Cheers to 1HappyHiker (John Compton) as I know this was a favorite of his. Kept a spot warm for ya bud. Early start to beat the crowds, even though we joked if we saw someone up there with us, we'd probably become friends. Hale Brook was in great shape, just wet leaves. We entered the woods before the crossing and took a compass bearing to the summit proper. I want to again thank 1HH for this beta because this was far better going than my route. Nordic_Gal would be proud of me for turning to Honey Badger and said "Why add extra miles, when we can go straight for it from here, its the same gain!" And gain there was, about 1300 over 0.45 miles. It was snowing this morning during our hike and we did encounter snow on the ground starting at about 2600. A dusting, at most. So happy to see the white stuff again. My favorite season is near! We enjoyed hot jetboil coffee and the reason we embarked to this peak. Lots of "Fruity Pebbles" as Honey Badger kept calling it. Stayed up there about an hour before we got too cold. Watched the clouds dance over Zeacliff and Whitewall. Beer and freeze dried lunches in Zealand River to cap off the day. Excellent!
