Comments
Comments: From the parking, I followed roads and trails south-ish, then curved SW toward Lily Pond. Before reaching the pond, I took to the woods and bushwhacked up the S slope of Mousley. Woods were generally open, but the going was slow due to rough, rocky terrain and tons of small blowdowns. Oh yeah, and it was fairly steep. Nearing the top, I picked up pieces of herd path here and there which led me to the recognized summit, which is in a ledge clearing (no views). From there, I followed a herd path NE to another large ledge that offered restricted views toward Mt. Cube.

I continued down the NE ridge, and the woods were lovely and much better on this side. I popped out on a wide skid road that offered views toward Cube. This road followed the spine of the ridge most of the way, and led directly to the gate opposite the parking area. Walking was OK on the road, but also slow due to slash and rough ground. So in retrospect, you could ascend on this skid road most of the way, directly from the parking.

Gorgeous foliage color in this area today!
