Parking/Access Road Notes
Parking/Access Road Notes: Near the end of Randolph Hill Rd. at the RCF trailhead. I was unaware there was some sort of ridge race today, so the place was mobbed. I parked roadside a short distance before the end.

Comments
Comments: I'd only been to Crescent once in the past and don't recall it being this steep! :D

Did the loop clockwise up Mt. Crescent Trail first. The trails were mainly dry with some tiny areas of mud. The scramble below the north viewpoint was dry. The trees are growing up here but the view is still good. The south viewpoint is fantastic. From Mt. Crescent Trail I found a very short and vague herd path to the off-trail high point of Mt. Crescent. Most leaves are down so the steep descent down Crescent Ridge Trail was slippery in places.

Instead of returning to the trailhead via Peek Path (and to avoid the race crowds), I continued down Mt. Crescent Trail to Randolph Hill Rd. and walked that back to my car. Spectacular weather today with completely clear skies and pleasant temps.
