We overslept so the initial goal of the Weeks didn't seem the best idea, especially given sunny skies that begged for a great viewpoint. We were not disappointed, even though filtered sun dominated and the skies darkened a bit after noon. Such a great view from the 2.2 mi ledges below the official summit, for moderate work. Saw only three other parties all day. Overshot the summit to the Centennial trail junction, thinking there was a great view into Maine, but as the WMG says, it's a restrictive one although nice. That 0.3 had a few boot-sucking mud spots.
As yesterday's poster noted, there are more signs on the initial 1.1 mi walk to the trailhead. |
