Awesome day out there getting King Ravine & Chemin Des Dames before the rain / before winter comes. Got a late start, but the rain held off all day, and only ended up with a mile or two in the dark. Air Line > Short Line was a nice and easy climb. Little bit muddy but nothing terrible. Then boulder climbing pretty much from Mossy Falls up to the end of the King Ravine Trail. Did the Subway & the Ice Caves (and backtracked on the main trail as well) - super fun! We left packs at the split jcts since we knew we'd come back on the main trail - saves one or two pack passes. Clouds stayed high all day and rocks stayed dry. Really fun! I was dreading going down Chemin des Dames, but we were pleasantly surprised! Took Amphibrach>Link back to Appalachia - a little wet/muddy again, but not bad. Great day!
