Lots of slippery leaves coming down from Mt. Dickey - I usually jog down this stretch - but not today! Almost slipped a few times just walking.
Went out to the less visited northeast ledges of Mt. Dickey today - well worth the short trip! Nice open views. Done this loop dozens of times and never ventured out to these ledges. Nice to find something new on an old familiar trail. The trail, if you can call it that, was not easy to follow. I wouldn't attempt if you're uncomfortable going off trail or have a poor sense of direction. If you do head out that way, please watch that you don't step on the rare alpine plants/mosses! They seem to be doing well, far away from the heavy foot traffic. |
