 | Comments: |
Most of the distance on the Stony Brook Trail is covered in leaves as it passes through a hardwood forest. The leaves were predominantly dry today (only a few spots with soaked leaves).
The ledges on the south side of Mt Moriah on the Carter-Moriah were dry which provided for secure footing. There were frequent mud spots on the Carter-Moriah Trail that often had embedded rocks, roots, or sticks to keep one out of the muck. No ice on the trails.
Great views from the open ledges and the summit.
Nice cascade by the second bridge down low on the Stony Brook Trail.
Met two hikers from Dover, NH and their dog. Talked with two AT thru hikers heading to Katahdin. One from NY and the other from Zurich, Switzerland. |
