 | Parking/Access Road Notes: |
Wow that Quinttown Road is about the dreamiest gravel road that I have ever been on. Mine was the only car at the trailhead today. |

There are two tiny brook crossings that are easily rock hoppable for humans but are splashapalooza for dogs. :) |

No blowdowns |
|
 | Dog-Related Notes: |
My dog loved this trail and we saw 5 other incredibly well behaved dogs (and only two people!) |
|
 | Bugs: |
Surprisingly large swarms of bugs and I got two bites today. In November.

and all signs are intact.
Someone had a party at the Hexacube shelter and apparently thought that there is maid service up there.
There is not.
Bears got into the large trashbag that they left behind. Now the bears have diabetes and the forest was a mess. I packed all of that up as well as some camp shoes, and packed it out. I couldn’t figure out how to secure a pair of Mens size 13 LL Bean rubber boots to my pack so I had to leave that behind for the next good samaritan. If you need rain boots and you wear size 13, go get em, they looked pretty new.
But be on the lookout for hyperglycemic bears.
A balmy November day is a great day to hike Mt Cube! The trail has great footing, the Eastman Ledges had nice views, then there were some rocky and ledgy parts that were great for photos. The summit was a nice place to sit and let my pupper have a little snooze.
A fine day! |
