Trails in good shape. There are a few broken boards on the bog bridges around Lonesome Lake but nothing that's an impediment. There's also a few missing treads here and there but again, no impediments. |

Beautiful Saturday which explains the crowds. Only passed a handful of hikers on the way up Hi-Cannon and Lonesome Lake trail to Kinsman Ridge. The crowds were mostly aiming for the two peaks. Took the Lonesome Lake trail returning to the parking lot and it is one of the more gentle trails in the Whites. The Hut is open on a caretaker basis and has water. The State park is closed for the year but there's quite a few tents pitched.
As a bonus, I found a bunch of mushrooms ripe for the picking on a dying maple near the park. |
