Comments
Comments: The burned area is showing some early signs of recovery; the trail remains easy to follow through this area. Interestingly, I realized there are no signs of moose in this area now, which is a significant change from when I first hiked the trail 10 years ago.

Up for my fall maintenance trip. Lots of leaves, particularly on lower half of trail. Cleared out drainages in preparation for winter, so if you see bare ground heading downhill it is probably a drainage, not the trail. Someone has built several small cairns marking the right turn on the summit of East Hayes and approaching the Centennial/Mahoosuc junction.

After 10 years as the Adopter of this trail, I have decided to pass the trail on to someone else. Hopefully I have left it in as good or better shape than 10 years ago. If you are interested in adopting a well built trail with the reward of excellent views at the end, please contact the AMC Adopt a Trail program.
