Awesome day out there! Winter wonderland. Decided to bring the snowshoes in case. Glad I did, as I wore them from about 2800ft and up, but I also probably could’ve done without them. It was a tough call. Many spots too rocky for snowshoes, but then drifts between rocky patches were deep. Others out there didn’t use snowshoes. I still was happy to have mine, especially for breaking out kelton/Watson. Always forget how hard it is to identify cairns in the winter. Was slow going. Howker ridge I was able to follow others’ tracks. Made for an easier trek down. A great day! Was so happy to be back in snow :) |
