Gorgeous day to ease back into the "winter" hiking. No wind and warm sunshine. The trails are coated in enough snow to use light traction but not snowshoes yet. Temps were chilly enough to keep the snow from balling up on the spikes most of the time. Nice to be able to take a leisurely pace to stop and chat with friends and then a 30 min lunch break at the summit with hungry gray jays. Pretty sad how starved these birds are, nobody must be feeding them as they just kept on coming back for cashews. ;]
This route is definitely best in snow conditions, looking forward to a solid dumping of it. |
