| Parking/Access Road Notes: |
Parked along the side of entrance road, pretty close to N Groton rd (not sure if this will be feasible when plowed w/lots of snow). 3 other cars when we arrived at 1 (avoided parking spots that could block anyone), none when we left at 3:30. All were parked near the gate at the end of the entrance rd. |

| Trail Maintenance Notes: |
Trails in great shape. Some roads (wide) and some traditional trails. Few blow downs on HPL and BKT, but all were easy to get around or over. Great faded wolf signs near the summit of Bald Knob!! |

| Dog-Related Notes: |
Cooper had a wonderful time. Trail was pretty easy for pups, plus there were several locations for grabbing a drink. |

I dropped Coop's leash, but it was on the gate for when leaving. Thanks so much to the person who left it for me to find!!!! |

| Comments: |
I will be coming back to explore more of the trails in the Cockermouth Forest. I actually wanted to explore the pond, but spent a lot of time wandering back over trails looking for the lost leash, silly me.
Very enjoyable hike to the summit, with wonderful views (especially of the windmills). Trails started with snow dusting on the sides, since most in the center of trails had melted from foot traffic. At higher elevations, there was more snow, but only about an inch or 2. Few wet spots, but not bad. Bare booted w/o issues. |
