| Water Crossing Notes: |
The main water crossing at the beginning of the ISO Express bushwhack was easily rock hopped. Plenty of running water still on Rocky Branch, with little to no bridging yet. Some marshy areas on the Engine Hill bushwhack are still muddy and you could submerge a foot if you’re not careful. |
|
| Trail Maintenance Notes: |
A large duck-under on Davis Path right before the Isolation summit spur. It’s easily ducked under, but more snow and larger pack would make it difficult or impossible. Tree is essentially a leaner with a diameter of over a foot. |

| Comments: |
Spikes went on almost immediately as there is ice right off the bat. The lower two miles had quite a bit of exposed rock, too, and actually saw some melting during the day. We used our crappy rock spikes for this hike. Both bushwhacks are well broken and easy to follow (thank-you Scott Bruns!), though snow tonight could affect that, I suppose. The exit of Engine Hill bushwhack is lined up almost exactly with the entrance to the ISO Express (look to your right about five feet). The bushwhacks were slightly less consolidated than Davis Path and Rocky Branch…snowshoes would have been overkill today. |
