Mixed bag of shoulder season conditions below 2500' but definitely recommend spikes car to car. Old bridal path is well filled in where its in the trees above 3000' to the hut but the exposed ledges and gullies are mostly bare rock. Pretty good snow conditions from the hut up to the summit with some drifting, all are well broken out. Ridge is bony but enough snow cover to minimized the amount of rocks exposed and icy areas, deep snowpack where the trail goes into the conifers on the east side of the ridge. Falling Waters trail in similar shape as old bridal down to about the top stream crossing. As usual the sections descending around the waterfalls were decently spicy, but the ice wasn't wicked slick. Brutally windy on the ridge |
