 | Comments: |
We noted on the drive that both Haystack Rd and Gale River Rd Loop were still open, but Zealand Rd and Sawyer River Rd are gated.
The trail conditions were what you can imagine with all the freezing and thawing temperatures we have had. Wore spikes the entire way; not enough snow for snowshoes yet. Up high snow is starting to fill in around and cover the rocks so there are places it is easier footing than when there is no snow. Significant ice on the trail, but it was soft enough that spikes gripped just fine. Trail is quite solid with some slush. Snow fell most of the time we hiked adding a trace of fresh snow. |
