 | Water Crossing Notes: |
One crossing which was slightly elevated but still easy using slightly submerged rocks. |
|
 | Trail Maintenance Notes: |
Well maintained. There are a few (older) easy step-over blow downs. Some branch debris in the trail from the winds, I moved many larger branches out of the way. |

 | Dog-Related Notes: |
No dogs today, but a good hike for dogs. |

 | Comments: |
Icy conditions expected and received, but not as bad as I expected. The warmer temps and rain knocked down snow depths, some sections of bare but icy ground down low. I bare booted for the first 1.3 mi. then tossed on beater spikes as the ice became more significant. The hard ice is mostly in the center of the trail and can be avoided with crunchy snow on the side which provides decent traction. These trails never become more than a moderate grade so no difficult flow ice to deal with.
Winds were strong all day with snow showers, at times heavy with blowing snow. So a good day to be doing Cabot.
Quiet day on the trails. Nice crossing paths with Gema, George and Rhonda again!
This was my #567/576, and I'll be attempting to get the last 9 peaks over the next 9 days.
