 | Comments: |
Our 18.9 mile out & back to Zealand seemed fairly easy in spite of the mixed bag of trail conditions that are to be expected in shoulder season.
Bare-booted Zealand Road; spikes on soon after starting up the Zealand Trail. After the climb to Zeacliff, we switched to Hillsounds for the ridge walk over to Zealand & all the way back to Zealand Hut. Spikes back to the Zealand Road trailhead. Trail conditions were mostly a dusting of snow over hard ice with a few frozen postholes on the ridge. Except for the folks staying at Zealand Hut, we saw no one all day. Thanks to Madeleine for joining in the fun & for the stats. Just needed Zealand to grid out December on my over 60 grid. |
