Comments
Comments: Wore Trail Crampons door to door. Falling waters trail is a mix of rock, dirt, snow, and ice up to about 4200' and thick ice above that. The Franconia Ridge Trail, Greenleaf, and Old Bridle Trails are quite icy and full crampons would have been equally at home. The wind was pushy today - probably around 30 mph. We put on face protection shortly after reaching the Franconia Ridge trail and wore it back down to the hut. Awesome day with good company.
