Comments
Comments: Redlining 31st edition. Had already done yellow trail years ago but needed blue and red which are now included. Blue trail is really mellow and halfway up(went counter-clockwise from trailhead) it changes to a wide grassy road. Lots of avoidable ice on this section. Red trail was easy and pleasant-the vista Spur has a great view area with many carved log benches. Yellow Trail back was exceptionally nice as it crosses four ski glades and the abundant hardwoods and lack of leaves give you constant views across the valley to the big mountains. On way down Blue trail we came across a stump gnome sculpture which triggered a memory of reading about a fairy garden somewhere. Luckily I had snapped photos of guidebook and soon realized the fairy garden was back up the trail 10-15 minutes. Margaret was delighted with the fairies and I got my redline properly completed so everyone was happy. Amazing views all over Cooley-Jericho forest and surrounding roads. Little ice up there no traction was needed. Just hovering at 99%, never wanting the redlines to end:)
