Microspikes stayed in the pack the whole day, though a few sections could have been easier with them on but not worth the effort to put on/off every twenty feet. If you have shorter legs, it would ease some of the effort. Ice started on the north facing slabs sporadically at 1500' to the summit, but was never too much to warrant spikes.
