Good times today on Jackson! We opted for spikes car to car but snowshoes would have worked as well--the snow is packed fairly well with just a few looser spots where snowshoes could have been useful. However, the trail is definitely narrow in many spots so that would be a snowshoe bummer. Steep sections at the top were easy to navigate with the steps folks have kicked in, and the snow was great in the final stretches above treeline so sharp spikes were sufficient. Cool to see a pint-sized wonder (probably the youngest kid we've ever seen out in the winter) bagging her 40something-th peak. You go girl! |
