All crossings until Brackett Brook are passable with caution. Brackett Brook is not frozen over and was impassable. |

Cut branches left on trail near the trailhead, obscuring footprints. |

The trail has been used but isn’t necessarily broken out. There is a combination of packed, granular snow and ice and loose powder. Microspikes are necessary, but snowshoes would be a big help. All of the crossings are manageable with significant caution, except Brackett Brook. The Brook is not frozen over, and there did not appear to be any safe way to cross. The trail beyond the Brook is unbroken, and all hikers I encountered today turned around. |
