Hey, look, it's Pawtuckaway again. It felt (and looked) more like April 30 than December 30 today. 62 degrees when I returned to the car!
Today was a little bit of every spring-like condition: bare ground, melting ice, rotting snow, water, and mud. Things have changed noticeably since I was last here a few days ago.
I don't say this too often about trails, but Round Pond Trail was a dud for me. It follows a snowmobile route for its entire length, and a portion of it looks to have been converted for logging. If the ground weren't still mostly frozen, it could have been a mudfest.
The day started pretty quiet but I started seeing more people during the late morning who were also enjoying the warm day. |
