Comments
Comments: Lots of melting snow and ice! My snowshoes went on right before kinsman ridge trail. Postholed mess! I preferred my route on the way up via Hi-cannon over taking the decent on the kinsman ridge to lonesome lake trail it was absolutely gnarly. I felt like I was slipping and sliding the whole way down and it was scary on a rather STEEP trail. Slush, melting ice, bad footing on slippery rocks cuz the trail was a stream of running water. . Felt like spring conditions on the upper part of the trails today. I’d say after the second mile or so. The lower parts are better broken. My pace was a lot slower today due to the slippery conditions and heavy winter pack so I had to ditch my plan of hitting the kinsmans - rugged but gnarly day!
