Bare all the way up till the last .4mi, then intermittent ice/snow and then snow for the last .25mi. Most folks were using spikes, some used nothing. Either way would be fine but I found the spikes helpful once I put them on and kept them on longer on my return. I moved faster with them. The mud is slippery on some slopes, however. I found this to be more of an issue on the way down. Don't take your steps for granted in the muddy areas and you should be okay. |
