Comments
Comments: Chanpney Falls Trail: The trail has a few inches of new snow. Most of the trail was covered with at least a little snow. There were a few areas that was just dirt/water/leaves but not too bad. It did get a little slushy in the wetter areas. Some areas had roughly 8-12 inches of snow but all of it was hard packed. Some previous post holes but nothing too bad.

Champney Falls Cutoff: We were the first ones on this trail since the new snow (but there were a few others behind us). The previous trail was easy to follow. It was all pretty hard packed with some crusty snow/ice but nothing too slippery. Some previous post holes but mostly filled in at this point.

Middle Sister Trail: There was a guy who went on this slightly before we did, so we easily followed his trail. This trail had a lot more crusty ice than any other trails today, but it was crusty and sticky enough to get a good grip with microspikes on. The rest of the trail was hard packed snow.

It was a great day. Pretty warm overall. We had pockets of views but mostly in and out of the clouds all day. Sort of felt like a spring hike, as it was a tad warmer than usual January and we both had a lot of snow balling up in our spikes.
