 | Comments: |
Well-worn track up the access road. West Ridge Trail was also well-tracked, almost all snow with a bit of mud here and there. The track became very faint in the slab zone above 2,800' and the wind filled my footprints in pretty quickly. Cairns were extremely helpful for navigation this afternoon.
On the way down I swung up the lightly broken-out Ranger-Cabin Trail to the better-trafficked South Ridge Trail over South Peak and Rimrock. The Skyland Trail leading back to West Ridge was very choppy at first, but got progressively smoother.
Microspikes worked fine all day, but heel clumping was a constant nuisance. |
