Arrived an hour early to check out the waterfalls, was slightly confused as to the dozens of cars in the field and designated hiker parking, but saw no one on Brook Walk. When Alfie and I got back to meet up with our hiking pals most of the vehicles had gone. Only conclusion I could come to was that it was a massive group hike. Which meant the trail was very trodden down… lower elevations bare trail, mud leaves and rocks. Once up higher and on ledges more packed snow and ice. Some old post holes. We all bare booted and switched to spikes to descend. Gorgeous sunset views. Snowshoes went for a ride as they have been doing for weeks now. |
