Absolutely gorgeous day! We needed to pick up just South & Middle today, and opted to go up Imp Trail instead of starting on 19MB after reading The Teal Goat's tale of posthole nightmareland! I'm glad we went up this way instead of down, because indeed, the trail is torn up. There is so little snow right now, it's what I'd expect to see in MA this time of year, but not here. Trail conditions were better heading down Carter Dome Trail, but still a little bit wrecked. I'd normally recommend snowshoes, of course, but today they would have been useless except maybe between the peaks. Despite the trail conditions, it was a lovely hike and a beautiful sunset! |
