Date of Hike
Date of Hike: Sunday, January 8, 2023
Parking/Access Road Notes
Parking/Access Road Notes: Road and lot are both plowed. Parking was tight by 9:30ish when we arrived.
Surface Conditions
Surface Conditions: Snow - Trace/Minimal Depth
Recommended Equipment
Recommended Equipment: Light Traction
Water Crossing Notes
Water Crossing Notes: We opted to brave the Downes Brook crossing - there's no way across without stepping in 2-3 inches of water a few times, but it's doable with water-proof boots and poles.
Trail Maintenance Notes
Trail Maintenance Notes: There is a fairly large tree down across the trail between the water crossing and the logging road. Pretty easy to walk around.
Dog-Related Notes
Dog-Related Notes: Rue the Wonder Poodle had a blast. The last half? mile gets steep, and could be difficult for some dogs (esp. if they don't like ice).

Comments
Comments: Views were absolutely breath-taking. Ran into very few other folks on the trail, so a good option if you like quieter hikes.
