 | Trail Maintenance Notes: |
Needs more blazing...blazes are faint. There are a number of blowdowns after the Greeley Ledges trail junction. There is one before the new X-C trail blocking the trail...hand saw might work. Upon reaching the western shoulder, there is another blocking the trail...hand saw might work as well. There could be a double blaze at the sharp right turn in the lower section where there are a number of small stream crossings. Sections of trail with water on it...erosion is taking place. |

What a fun loop with Pemi Valley Hikers! From the parking area, we walked up the ski slope to the official start. Trail was partially broken with some post-holes however the frozen crusted snow made for easy going. Microspikes worked fine. No need for snowshoes this time but this is one of the lesser used trails where you cannot always count on it being broken soon after a snowstorm. The Greeley Ledges Trail was a bit bony. Thankfully there were tracks because after the trail junction there are faint yellow blazes and even those were few at that, that would have made route finding challenging. We were the only ones on the trail today. |
