All things considered the trail is pretty good. Below 2000ft it's a mix of broken crust, packed snow, mud, running water, and ice. From around 2800-3500 it's slab ice with some packed snow detours available. Above 3500 and along the ridge it's beautiful sidewalk. If you have big teeth I'd recommend them as they make the descent much faster. Definitely don't recommend rock spikes - bring Hillsounds or equivalent [or snowshoes!]. Snowshoes not ["]needed["]. Note: the ridge was not broken out north of the junction as of 1/15.
