 | Parking/Access Road Notes: |
Diamond Ledge Rd. is icy; there is sand/salt on the ice, but still it might be best to take it slowly. The Mead Base Conservation Center parking lot (where the Wentworth Trail starts) was essentially full when we arrived at around 11:15am. |

 | Water Crossing Notes: |
At the one crossing that involved easy rock hopping instead of very easy rock hopping, it is easier if you stay to the right (in the ascending direction). |

 | Comments: |
There is not enough snow for snowshoes. Microspikes are essential, and are ideal for the current conditions: the Wentworth Trail is frozen packed snow/ice, so microspikes don't sink in them. The top of the Mead Trail seemed similar, in case you are planning the 8.2-mile Wentworth-Mead-Guinea Pond-Sandwich Notch Rd.-Bearcamp River Trail loop. If not planning the loop, it is definitely worth making an out-and-back along the Bearcamp River Trail from the parking lot to Beede Falls and Lower Falls (about 0.6 miles one-way): the waterfalls are partly frozen, but there is still a lot of water flowing, a beautiful combination! |
