Rattle River trail to the shelter had been traveled by many bare boosters. Once past the shelter though the trail had not been touched which we were not surprised by or disappointed by. We were well prepared with our snowshoes as always because that’s what you do if you really want adventure…you seek out uncertainty and challenge and you show up prepared for whatever comes your way. Wore the shoes out to SM peak, over to Moriah and to about a mile from the CM trailhead. CM trail had a better track than I expected although I would still say shoes are the most efficient tool for the job until the next thaw/freeze cycle. If you want a good climb, rattle river to Moriah will not disappoint. That is one steep
sumbitch. |
