Comments
Comments: Hodgepodge of shoulder season conditions. Hopefully we get enough snow tomorrow night to cover up the mess. Still full snow/ice cover (apart from a few small bare spots up high), generally 1-2" deep. Upper portion of the main trail is EXTREMELY icy; Microspikes would not be adequate in cooler temperatures (and walking off to the side of the trail causes permanent damage). I opted to take a lesser known trail to avoid it on the return trip, which was fine.

Relatively warm afternoon with temperatures in the 40s, but the shaded portions of the trail stayed firm.
