Livermore Tr (Rd) is groomed for skate skiing, fat tire biking and there are two groomed classic skiing tracks. Snowshoes or skis only. Once we went onto Greeley Ponds Tr. there were old ski tracks with new snow on them and a very nice snowshoe track from an AMC group going to Timber Camp. They were very courteous and stayed in a single file and avoided the ski tracks wherever possible. Nice to see people thinking of others out there! They also were going to Goodrich Rocks on the return so that should be nicely tracked also. Even with all those snowshoes the track was still not consolidated enough for Microspikes and the same for the ski tracks. We skied to the height of land about 2/10 past Timber Camp Tr and then came back. Three others on skis beind us were going to at least the first pond. Lots of streams to step over and make what would be a fantastic descent on skis a bit more slow and problematic. Still a beautiful day in the woods. |
