Comments
Comments: Snow depths ranged from about 5 inches down low, increasing to 8+ inches higher up. Some sections had harder crusty snow below the new powder from 1/20 storm.

Snowshoes were the best choice. Switched to microspikes on Faraway Mtn Trail as it was packed down by snowmobiles, but switched back to snowshoes as they were just more efficient.

Plan was to do a counter clockwise loop over Faraway Mtn and Mt. Roberts, but my friend had snowshoe troubles so we just did an out and back on referenced trails, not wanting to push on and have her have to bare boot and mess up the trails Another day.

Despite a lot of cars we didn't see other people on our trek. Sounded like a couple groups headed for Mt. Roberts.
